History
In year 1800 in a small village Carratraca was discovered a spring with sulphurous water with curtive results. A few years later there was build a building for accommodation for those who were visiting this natural spa. Since then a legendary reputation has continued to the Thermas of Carratraca, where personages of the history as King Fernando VII of Spain, the Empress Maria Eugenia, wife of Napoleón III, or the poets Lord Byron and Rainer Maria Rilke did of Carratraca their personal refuge.
